She is one of the most successful female artist in music history, the best selling music artist for 1990s and the only female artist to have straight number 1 singles and albums. In 2001 she signed a 100 milion contract with Virgin Records. It was the biggest music deal ever.Mariah Carey voice is amazing and no wonder, because she performed at New York Opera during her early years, also has a spectacular range spannig 5 octaves. Her highest octave is two octaves higher than normal soprano. She began to sing at age of four. In later years she also begun to write her own songs. Besides a writer she has also become a producer.
